[At first, Hinata isn't really interested in reading what Komaeda has to say. Considering his track record lately, it probably isn't anything good. But he ends up reading Komaeda's messages as they come in anyway, and by the time he reads the fourth message, his interest is very much piqued. Hinata never would have even guessed that Komaeda was terminally ill this whole time... Then again, it does explain why the despair fever almost killed him, unlike the other students who were infected.
Once he gets to the love confession, Hinata is completely overwhelmed with emotion. Surprisingly enough, reading that actually makes him feel... inexplicably happy? However, more than anything, he's also worried. For Komaeda to suddenly decide to spill his heart like this... there had to be some sort of catalyst for it, right? He's probably just being paranoid, but considering that Komaeda said he was going to die soon, he can't help but have a bad feeling about this.
His response comes almost immediately after Komaeda's last message.]
why are you telling me all this now? are you okay?
