[ This is probably the most excited Sakura's been ever since she got here—she can barely contain herself, and it shows. ]

Hinata! Hinata, I have really good news!

I just received my new badge and weapon! I'm a King! [ Finally... she feels like all her hard work the past couple of months has finally paid off, and she couldn't be happier. But wait, is his good news the same as hers...? ]

[So Sakura got a rank promotion too? Hinata had a feeling that's what it was, since he was just promoted this morning as well. He's glad that they can share in the excitement of their new ranks together; his feelings towards this whole Hero thing are still pretty mixed, but he's allowing himself to be happy about gaining access to new powers.]

[He gestures to the new badge on his uniform in place of his old Pawn badge.]

I just got promoted too, see? I'm a Rook now.

[ So it is the same! She's so glad that they got their rank promotions at the same time... it really feels like they're taking the same journey together, side by side. It's... nice. ]

[ She leans forward a little to get a better look at his badge. It's different from her King symbol, but it's definitely not a Pawn anymore. ]

[Hinata feels the same way. It's nice to progress along with one of the first people he met here, and a fellow student of Setsuna's -- it makes him feel like he's doing something right.]

What kind of weapon did you get, by the way?

[ It's strange. Now that some of her immediate giddiness is winding down, she finds that a little nervousness is taking its place. She's used to being nervous, of course, but this is Hinata—she's gotten so much more comfortable with him over the past couple of months that she's over most of that by now.

It's just that they haven't gotten to talk much since the, um... moment on the train, and now she feels suddenly aware of that fact. And so she looks away, suddenly a little shy. ]

I-I got a bow. It looks like it shoots l-lightning. How about you?

[Hinata is rather concerned by the sudden change in mood. He doesn't think he said anything to warrant her getting nervous... did he? This is like how she acted towards him when they didn't know each other as well...]

I got a shield that can produce a mana barrier to block attacks. Not much of a weapon, but it'll be useful for defense, at least... [No, he's not yet aware of the consequences of using that barrier. Oops.]

[It was such a heated, passionate kiss... completely different from the kiss he had shared with Setsuna just a few hours prior. But he's sure it was just because Sakura was desperate to wake him up before the Noir soldiers broke into the safe car. There's no way she'd ever kiss him for any other reason.]

I actually think it was really brave of you to do that. It must have been nerve-wracking, and my reaction probably didn't help... I'm sorry.

[ The relief she feels is almost palpable. Thank goodness! When she thought about how he pushed her away afterwards, she thought... she worried that Hinata felt too awkward or was just too polite to tell her that she'd done the wrong thing... or made things weird with their friendship... o-or maybe she was just a bad kisser...

In retrospect, maybe her fears were a little overblown. ]
